On June 23, on the sidelines of the 16th Meeting of Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the third trilateral meeting of between the Heads of State of Mongolia, the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China has been held.
Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program is a partnership of 10 countries (Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, People’s Republic of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan) and 6 multilateral institutions (Asia development bank, United Nations development program, European bank for reconstruction and development, World bank, International monetary fund, Islamic development bank) which promote cooperation in order to ensure poverty reduction and economic growth.
On 23 June, 2016, “Agreement on mutual recognition of customs control results with regard to particular categories of goods between Mongolian General Authority for Customs and Taxation, Russian Federal Customs Service, and General Administration of Customs of China” has been signed by Mr. Purev S, Director General of Mongolian General Authority for Customs and Taxation, Mr. Beliyaninov Andrey, Head of the Federal Customs Service, Mr. Yu Guangzhou, Director General of the General Administration of Customs of China during the meeting of Council of Head of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization which held in Tashkent, Republic of Azerbaijan.
Head of Directorate Ms.Tanja Mildenberger and Head of Division Mr. Thomas Mazet of the Federal Ministry of Finance of the Federal Republic of Germany visited the Mongolian Customs General Administration on 14-15 November 2016.

On behalf of the Customs General Administration of Mongolia and myself, Happy 104th anniversary of the establishment of modern customs organization in Mongolia, to all customs personnel and their families who have dedicated themselves to the customs organization.
Mongolian delegation led by the Deputy Director General of the General Authority for Customs and Taxation met with the Chinese delegation led by the Deputy Director General of China Customs and the Director of the Ports Unit Huang Shenchiang to exchange ideas under the framework of the agreement signed between the Mongolian National Ports Council and the General Customs Administration of China on establishing a port management cooperation commission.
Economic Partnership Agreement between Mongolia and Japan is expected to enter into force on June 7, 2016. According to the EPA, starting from June 7, 2016, 5700 goods of Mongolia and 9300 goods of Japan will be exempted from customs import duties. In connection with the implementation of this agreement, following changes are made on customs control and clearance and on “customs tariff” of import goods.
With regards to the implementation of the Economic Transparency law, an awareness campaign to provide advice and information to the public was held yesterday at the Freedom Square. Officials from the Finance Ministry, Customs and Tax administrations, Social security administration, and the State registration office were present during the event. These officials organized training on implementing the said law five times.
In order to reduce the burdens of paying tax, to easy the procedure of submitting reports, to increase transparency and to raise the tax allowance of individuals and economic entities, the draft ‘Economic transparency law’ was submitted to the Mongolian parliament on the beginning of January, 2015. However, lawmakers did not make a final decision during the regular session of the Parliament and refused to review the draft due to some contradictions in the draft.
The Fourth Statistics meeting between Mongolia and China Customs was held in Ulaanbaatar during 14-17 September, 2015. The main purpose of the meeting is to conduct customs statistics collation and identify the reasons of discrepancy, if needed.
