CUSTOMS HAVE WORKED DURING THE WEEKENDS FOLLOWING THE AMMENDMENTS TO THE EXCISE TAX LAW

Following the amendments to the Excise Tax law that came into force on 14 April, relevant units of Customs General Administration of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar City Customs, Zamiin-Uud Customs and Selenge Customs have worked during 08:30 – 21:00 on 29 April, 2017 and 08:30 – 00:00 on 30 April, 2017.

Within the implementation work of this law, customs clearance procedures of cigarettes and automobiles with excise taxes were completed on above dates. Information and recommendations can be obtained through 1800-1281, Customs information line.

THE “OPEN DOOR DAY” WAS ORGANIZED BY ULAANBAATAR CITY CUSTOMS

According to the Government Decree 190 of 2007, in order to improve decision making by perceiving citizens opinions and recommendations, government organizations are obliged to organize the “Open door day” annually. Ulaanbaatar City Customs have successfully organized the “Open door day” on 27-28 April, with the help of Customs General Administration of Mongolia /MCGA/, Detector Dog Training Center of MCGA, General Agency For Specialized Inspection, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ulaanbaatar Railway Joint Association.

Ms.Tserenchimed.S, Director of Customs Central Laboratory has participated the “Legal Guide” TV program which is hosted by Ms.Altantsetseg.Ts, journalist of Mongolian National Broadcaster and gave detailed information regarding caffeine which is the most widely consumed psychoactive substance.

Working group meeting was held in Sochi, Russia on 10-12, April, 2017, with an aim to review the works completed of Mongolia-Russian customs during 2016-2017 and to exchange opinions on future endeavors regarding violation of customs law. Meeting was led by the Deputy Director Generals of the two Customs administration and Mr.Bat-Erdene.Yo, Deputy Director General of MCGA was the head of delegations of Mongolian Customs. ANTI-CORRUPTION AGENCY WORKING GROUP IS WORKING AT THE CUSTOMS GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

Anti-Corruption Agency Working Group is working at ministries and agencies to raise awareness of the civil servants regarding the National Program to Fight Corruption, to select members for the Public Sub Council to operate under the Crime Prevention Sub Council of the ministries, agencies and local governments to prevent from corruption, to survey the implementation of the Anti-Corruption legislation on site, to receive information and complaints from the people and to provide training to promote the National Program to Fight Corruption.

The “National Program to Fight Corruption” adopted by the Parliament and the 2016-2020 Government Action Plan calls for the establishment of Public Monitoring Sub Council under the sub council to coordinate the crime prevention efforts at the ministries, agencies and local governments to prevent from corruption.

ULAANBAATAR CUSTOMS WINS THE CUSTOMS CUP

Ulaanbaatar Customs received the first prize, certificate of honor, gold medal and the Customs cup, having won in the “Customs Cup - 2017” sports competition. The Ulaanbaatar Customs led by the leader of the team Z.Syrymbek is retrieving the Customs Cup after 5 years. Ulaanbaatar customs team consisted of 29 people and competed in basketball, volleyball, table tennis, chess and snooker billiards matches.
